Kuala Lumpur, 26 November 2024 – SEAX Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (“SEAX”), a leading telecommunications service provider, and EDOTCO Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (“EDOTCO”), the national tower infrastructure company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on developing fibre optic infrastructure and edge computing solutions across Malaysia. The MOU was officially exchanged at the TowerXchange Meetup Asia, witnessed by YB Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications and Digital, and attended by key industry leaders and stakeholders.
This partnership comes at a critical time when the demand for high-speed data and low-latency connectivity is accelerating rapidly. With the proliferation of 5G, IoT devices, and data-intensive applications, edge computing is emerging as a key enabler of next-generation connectivity. Recognising these trends, SEAX and EDOTCO have outlined a comprehensive collaboration to address the growing needs of Malaysia’s digital ecosystem.
The collaboration will focus on building cost-effective fibre infrastructure to support SEAX’s operations, enhancing EDOTCO’s existing sites with state-of-the-art edge data centres, and delivering scalable, high-speed connections that link edge locations to SEAX’s regional hubs.
